skullyIt seems that a lot of people will shell out to use heads-up displays in their vehicles, whether it’s a attached to a car’s 16-pin data port or is integrated into a helmet for motorcycles.

The Skully AR-1 motorcycle helmet is the fastest fully-funded campaign on Indiegogo, raising $1 million in about 45 hours, with an average contribution of $1,425. The company was looking to raise $250,000, but contributions have come in from 24 countries and 43 states, bringing the current total to $1,133,101.

The most popular perk is the Skully AR-1 for $1,399, which has been claimed by 400 so far.

The helmet uses a network of sensors, microprocessors, and a camera to deliver a heads-up display with turn-by-turn GPS navigation, which appears about 10 feet in front of the rider. Labeled as the “Synapse platform,” it offers automatic infinitely variable focal distance, which means the information is clear no matter where the rider is looking.
